KIKO is a Japanese form of qi gong (“working with energy”), which promotes health, harmony and well-being.
Ki or qi can be seen as a form of subtle energy or active information
working on the physical chakras, the whole length of the torso is mobilized in 3 dimensions
most excercises are cyclic and performed standing up so there is little risk of injuries (compared to yoga e.g.)
Visualizations amplify the effect of certain exercises, (re)discovering inner connections
My personal style has been influenced mostly by FrΓ©dΓ©ric Duribreux (Oostende), Richard Prospero (Bruxelles) & Kenji Tokitsu (France).
The latter has developed “jisei kiko” together with dr. Yayama (Japan), which also forms the basis for a powerful inner karate style (jisei karate do).
Other influences include other qi gong forms, yoga and muscular & articular chains (Godelieve Struyf-Denys).
